ON SALE NOW: The 2026 Triangle Dog Of The Year Calendar Benefitting Second Chance Pet Adoptions

Our 3nd Annual Triangle Dog Of The Year Calendar has arrived!

This year our Annual Calendar Contest raised almost $21K for Second Chance Pet Adoptions! Yes, almost $21 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I had the pleasure to start working with Second Chance a few years ago when their previous Dog Program Manager, Susan Roberts, started bringing some of their dogs to me for photos! From there, I was introduced to the incredible work they do and how they are one of the oldest and largest rescue organizations in the Triangle.

Here is a bit more about who they are directly from the source:

At Second Chance, our mission is to champion homeless cats and dogs who are healthy or treatable in the quest to find their forever homes and engage with our community to promote responsible pet ownership–ultimately reducing future generations of homeless animals.

What is most impressive to me about Second Chance is that they don’t cherry pick. They take the expensive cases, the medical cases, the behavioral ones, the senior dogs, the returns, the Parvo puppies—they do it all.

Which is why they need a constant source of funding!

So, this calendar truly is helping high-risk dogs in need!

With all of that being said, if you are ready to pick up your very own calendar, then you can do so here. Calendar sales will be open until December 31st, 2025.

Or if you are ready to view all of the winners and their adorable photos and bios, keep on scrolling.

Calendars not your thing? You can still donate to Second Chance Pet Adoptions here!

PS If you are wondering, I am already in the works for a contest for next year with a twist! Stay tuned!

Psst… love this post? Be sure to pin it for later!

OUR COVER MODEL: LANKY (SECOND CHANCE ALUM)

Lanky’s journey to adoption wasn’t easy, but it was worth every step. Rescued by Second Chance Pet Adoptions and spending years in foster care overcoming health challenges, Lanky is now thriving in his forever home. This 75-lb lap dog is a true character—often getting into mischief, greeting every human and animal visitor with excitement, and napping like a champ. Despite his age, Lanky still loves rolling and bounding in the yard, and when food is involved, he becomes a pro jumper! Lanky wants everyone to know that senior rescues are the best and deserve a home to live out their golden years in comfort.
