Our 4th Birthday Fundraiser benefitting the Canine Community Outreach of North Carolina is dropping on August 4th!

This will be our fourth year running with the goal is raising $2000 for our friends over at Canine Community Outreach Of North Carolina, a local non-profit organization that is working to close the gap between affordable spay/neuter and our community also subsidizing spay / neuter for rescue organizations as needed, and more.

Our community will have a chance to buy virtual entries supporting CCONC for the chance to win one of three awesome prizes from us including:

• $250 Gift Certificate

• $500 Gift Certificate

• $1000 Gift Certificate

All of which can be used towards a Pet Portrait experience with us plus custom digital or physical artwork from your session!

Entries are:

• $25 for 1

• $50 for 3

• $100 for 10

Entries must be made in the form of a donation to CCONC at helpncdogs.org/donate .

Once your donation has been made, a screenshot with a timestamp must be emailed or messaged to us at joanne@fivefreedomsphotography.com. We will respond that your entry has been received!

Winners will be announced at random on the morning of August 11th.*

Join Dog Photographer, Joanne Wetzel, for an afternoon of learning all about pet photography as it pertains to taking great photos of your foster cats and dogs!

We will tackle some of the most common foster issues when it comes to taking photos, such as lighting, focus, getting the animal to pay attention to you / sit still, cell phone camera settings, and more.

This class is only for current animal fosters at local shelters and rescues and is not open to the public as a photography class. Please only register if you are an active foster with a shelter or rescue and can provide proof as such.

Our Limited Edition Sunflower Sessions are back for a fourth year in a row!

Registrants will receive a twenty minute photo session for your pup on a gorgeous Summer evening at the lovely Juniper Creek Farms in South Raleigh.

From the session, you'll receive five edited digital files with the option to purchase more if interested.

Get ready for shark week with our very special shark themed pop up portraits at Earthwise Pet Wake Forest. This Limited Edition themed sessions will only be offered once, so don't miss out.

Portraits will be available from 12 - 4 PM. One pup per time slot.

Join Five Freedoms Photography for this very special studio portrait session coming up at All Dog’s Allowed on April 27th! This limited series will only be available once, so don't delay and book today.

Pups In Pastel will be available from 1-4 PM. One pup per time slot; if you have multiple dogs, please book one time slot per dog. No exceptions.

Two digital files will be delivered via an online gallery within 1-2 weeks of the event. Clients will be able to order additional images at a rate of $25 per image from the session if they so choose.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Join Joanne Wetzel, Professional Dog Photographer, for a beautiful afternoon Pet Photography photo walk at the North Carolina Museum Of Art. This photo walk is designed for anyone interested in capturing the beauty of their own pets or our dog models.

Whether you use a smartphone or a more advanced camera, this event will provide you with easy-to-follow photography tips to enhance your ability to document everyday moments with your dog.

During our walk, I'll offer advice on basic settings, natural light, recommendations for working with dogs, composition, and more.

We’ll also have one or two dog models along, so you’ll get plenty of practice and see firsthand how to make the most of the stunning afternoon light.

This photo walk is a fantastic opportunity for dog lovers to connect, exchange photography tips, and enjoy all of the unique beauty the art museum has to offer.

TECHNIQUES COVERED

No formal techniques will be covered, but Joanne will be happy to answer questions and make suggestions

WHAT TO BRING

- No specific camera equipment required; bring what you have! If bringing a camera, fully charged batteries and empty memory cards

- Dress for the weather; often times when working with pets, we are laying on the ground, traipsing through meadows and woods, and just generally getting dirty!

- Water, so you can stay hydrated!

Our annual Pho-ho-ho-tos with Santa is a great opportunity to help dogs while getting a great photo of your pupper and Santa!

Your minimum donation of $25 goes toward Canine Community Outreach's ongoing campaign to spay, neuter and vaccinate dogs in need. You'll get digital versions of your dog's photo, with the option to get print resolution perfect for printing as holiday cards or creating special gifts, thanks to professional pet photographer extraordinaire Joanne of Five Freedoms Photography!

Have multiple dogs? We recommend a minimum donation of $25 for the first dog with $10 for each additional dog.

The calendar launch party is the culmination of the 2025 Triangle Dog Of The Year Calendar Contest, hosted back in February of this year by Raleigh Pet Photographer, Five Freedoms Photography, that raised over $21K for Charley's K9 Rescue to help them in their mission to pull and rehabilitate often overlooked bully breed dogs from rural shelters across North Carolina.
