I can not say enough amazing things about Joanne! While I wanted to have professional pictures of all three of my dogs, it was my nervous, black (so not always easy to photograph) Pittie who I especially wanted to focus on now that he's in his senior years.
Joanne knew how to not stress him but still get good pictures. She knew the features I wanted to forever capture in pictures and focused on those. The pictures turned out amazing.
I highly, highly recommend Joanne (even if you have easy pups but especially if you have "big personality", aka nervous or scared dogs)! She truly knows how to work with each dog to capture wonderful pictures!

I knew of Five Freedoms from my sister-in-law, who'd worked with Joanne numerous times and recommended her to everyone she knew. As DINKs, this shoot was our version of family photo that we'd get to put on display in our home, so we wanted them to be awesome!
Our girl can be a bit rowdy but Joanne was very reassuring about her experience and understanding of all kinds of pups. The entire process felt effortless on our end and the shoot itself was so much fun! Joanne was able to capture the different personalities and quirks of our dogs so well. Totally worth it and would definitely recommend!

Joanne was fantastic to work with. I was a little worried going into the process with three dogs with a wide range of personalities and ages!
But, she was able to capture amazing images that I will cherish the rest of my life. She was calm, engaged, and gained each of my dogs trust (with the help if their new fave treat- dried minnows!).
She communicated clearly and spent a lot of time before the shoot and after helping me choose the best shots! I highly recommend her and plan to use her again in the future!

If you have been looking for someone to document everything you love about your pet in beautiful photos, look no further. Joanne has such an eye for detail and is immensely talented.
My dog, Penny, can be reactive when meeting new people, so I was a little worried going into the shoot- I shouldn’t have been! Joanne has learned to manage all types of behavior without judgement- she gave us the space to acclimate and made fast friends with Penny with the help of some tasty treats!
Overall our shoot was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend supporting Joanne’s business especially because of all the work she does in the shelter/rescue community in Raleigh and surrounding areas!
