Forget Me Not Session: Mary, Blanche, + Bruiser

This post is not the first, but second time that I’ve had the pleasure to work with Mary and photograph her with her pups.

Crotchety senior pups are kind of her thing.

After losing her soul dog, Vespa, a couple of years ago, Mary has become increasingly involved in animal welfare and rescue specializing in taking in the old dogs that most people don’t want because of the dedicated care they need and the medical expense.

She especially loves the smaller pups and takes such great care of them - most of them truly get a second leash on life.

Blanche and Bruiser are no different! While Bruiser might be older, he’s doing relatively well whereas our sweet three-pound Blanche has seen a slew of issues over the past several months including a brain tumor and the loss of her sight.

But, let me tell you, even with not feeling her best, Blanche is an independent old lady. She loves Mom, but also is happily content to wander around using her sniffer to survey the environment. She let’s the big dogs know what’s up and rules the house. I’m truly awed bu how her three-pounds commands the world.

Bruiser is her bud, who is a total Momma’s boy. He may not be a huge fan of strangers, but don’t let his tough exterior fool you, he will become putty in your hands with some good treats.

Since our session, Blanche’s fully lost sight, but still getting around and maintaining being her happy-go-lucky self where Bruiser is holding fast to the tough exterior.

These photos of Mary and her pups are just so lovely and beautiful; these are many of the selections Mary chose from the session. Which one is your favorite?

Your senior pup(s) deserve to be celebrated with a very special Forget Me Not Session. Click here to learn more about these sessions.
