July 2025 Adoptables
Each month, I host a Foster Photo Day as a free resource to help local fosters and rescues have access to professional imagery to help their pups be seen (and hopefully) adopted.
The goal is to give harder to adopt pups, such as the ones listed below, an edge in standing out among the millions of animals available for adoption.
These dogs are usually, but not always:
Older (usually 3 years of age or older)
Might have medical needs
Potentially have some kind of behavioral issues, like reactivity or needing to be the only pet
Are a restricted breed, like bully breeds
Are black in color (Black dogs are much less likely to get adopted in the shelter in a very common phenomenon called Black Dog Syndrome)
Or have just been overlooked for one reason or another
Have been in foster for a significant period of time; typically months, if not, years
Since the inception of this program back in October of 2021, we’ve photographed well over 300+ pups in foster across the Triangle through multiple rescues.
If you’d like to learn more about Foster Photo Day or register your own foster, you can do so here. This initiative is open to any and all rescues across the Triangle that have dogs in foster that need professional imagery at no cost.
If you want to learn more about our Mission to help reduce animal overpopulation and homelessness in our state, read more about that here.
You can also support our Rescue Photography with a monetary contribution or pick up something for the pups off of our Rescue Photography Wishlist!
Without further ado, here are the adorable pups I had the pleasure to meet and photograph as part of our July Foster Photo Day! Feel free to share their profile or this post with anyone you know that might be looking to adopt.

KELLY - PERFECTLY IMPERFECT PUPS
Professional Napper – 5⭐ out of 5
“I take my job very seriously!”
If you need a buddy to snooze with, look no further. I’m Kelly, a 7-year-old red pitbull mix, and napping is my specialty. Sunshine spots? I’m there. Cozy blankets? Even better. I’m just waiting for the right human to snuggle up with forever.
Kid-Tested, Dog-Approved – 5⭐ out of 5
“Built for family life!”
I’m super friendly with kids and other dogs! Whether it’s playtime, chill time, or snack time, I fit right in. I bring calm, cuddles, and just the right amount of wiggles. Highly recommend myself if you have a home full of love (and maybe a few extra treats).
Sunshine Enthusiast – 5⭐ out of 5
“Certified sunbather!”
Nothing beats a sunny day and a soft patch of grass. I’m a simple girl with simple needs: warmth, love, naps, and some belly rubs. If you have a sunny spot with my name on it, I’m ready to move in!
Snuggle Machine – 5⭐ out of 5
“Warning: highly snuggly!”
Once you invite me onto your couch (or your lap… or your bed), be prepared — I’m not moving. I’m 60% cuddle, 30% nap, and 10% tail wag. Side effects may include extreme happiness and excessive smiling.

SCOUT (DELPHI) - SECOND CHANCE PET ADOPTIONS
Meet Delphi (aka Scout) – a shy senior girl looking for a soft place to land after life threw her a curveball. She found herself back at Second Chance when her beloved person became seriously ill. Now, she’s hoping for a loving forever home where she can quietly thrive.
Scout is the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a low-key, independent dog. She’ll greet you joyfully at the door with a happy wiggle and soft eyes, and then quietly retreat to her favorite spot until it’s time for ear rubs or a snack. She’s affectionate but happy to give you space.
She’s lived peacefully with both dogs and cats, and while she gets along well with other pups, she does prefer a calm environment. She’ll politely let overenthusiastic playmates know when she needs a little space. Scout also has excellent indoor manners. She’s trusted to roam freely in her foster home and sleeps contentedly on her dog bed at night.
She’ll bark only when there’s something important to say – like a package arriving or someone at the door. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion who asks for little but gives love freely in her own quiet way, Scout might just be your perfect match.
GIGI - FAYETTEVILLE ANIMAL PROTECTION SERVICES
Need some levity in your life?
Gigi, with her underbite and bark that is too small for her chonky body, is your gal. She is goofy, sweet, super snuggly, house broken, and knows basic commands. She loves riding in the car, going on walks, and napping. Gigi is very food motivated and learns quickly. She can easily get overwhelmed in loud environments (no night clubs for this lady!) - but she is fine adventuring to calmer places like breweries or bookstores.
She matches the vibes of other dogs and isn’t aware of her size (she’s a bowling ball), so a home without small children or other pets (other than a calm dog) would be ideal.
