June 2026 Adoptables Sponsored by Ethereal Tattoo Gallery
Our June adoptable round up has arrived!
This month’s Foster Photo Day was graciously sponsored by Ethereal Tattoo Gallery!
Ethereal Tattoo Gallery is one of the most established tattoo studios in Durham, with over seven years in business and deep roots in the local creative community. Known for a strong emphasis on fine art and technical excellence, the studio specializes in realism, fine line, illustrative work, and portraiture.
Owner and senior artist Brian Parrillo is especially known for his realistic portraits, including pet portraits. Brian’s fine art background and training in oil painting portraiture translates to portrait tattoos which capture likeness, personality, and realistic texture.
Ethereal operates as a deliberately art-focused and photography-conscious tattoo studio. The shop values how artwork is documented and preserved.
That philosophy drew Ethereal to align with Five Freedoms Photography, whose work reflects the same respect for craft, subject, and storytelling—and also a love for animals and animal rescue!
Without further ado, here are our June Foster Photo Day pups!

PARADISE - PERFECTLY IMPERFECT PUPS
Coming soon to Perfectly Imperfect Pups!
GRACIE - TRIANGLE BEAGLE RESCUE
With her beautiful light-colored coat, many people assume Gracie is a senior. Not so fast! At approximately 4 years old, this sweet girl still has plenty of spunk, energy, and playfulness.
Gracie is incredibly friendly and loves spending time with her people. One of her favorite pastimes is carrying plush toys around the house, proudly showing off her treasures. She is also a big fan of mealtime and treats, which may explain her slightly fuller figure! (Although she has learned to be suspicious when treats are hiding medication.)
Gracie is doing great with house training and sleeps soundly in a dog bed on the floor each night. She walks nicely on leash, though like any true beagle, an interesting scent can occasionally distract her from the task at hand.
Gracie recently underwent TPLO surgery and is recovering beautifully. Her future family should be aware that she may eventually need the same procedure on her other knee. Despite this, she remains a happy, affectionate girl who is ready to bring love, laughter, and plenty of beagle charm to her forever home.
If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion with a heart as beautiful as her coat, Gracie may be your girl!
ROYA - WAKE COUNTY ANIMAL CENTER
Royal is an independent and loyal girl with a playful side that shines once she's comfortable. She's well-mannered, good on a leash, and both crate and house trained. Royal does best with clear expectations and consistent training-she's a smart pup who may occasionally test the rules to see what she can get away with, but she thrives when boundaries are steady and fair.
She prefers to be the only dog in the home, as she does not do well interacting with other dogs. In the right environment, though, Royal is a wonderful companion. She loves chewing on rawhides, happily destroying her toys, and sometimes bursting into a joyful round of zoomies.
Royal is looking for a home that can offer structure, consistency, and the chance to be someone's one-and-only dog. With the right match, her loyalty and personality truly shine. If interested, reach out to her foster at kacy.boadwine@gmail.com.
ETHAN - CHARLEY’S K9 RESCUE
A few months ago, Charley’s pulled Ethan from Anson County Shelter when he came in extremely emaciated and in desperate need of help. Since then, this sweet boy has been on quite the journey — gaining weight, getting neutered, and bravely completing heartworm treatment.
✨ The best news? Ethan’s heartworm treatment is almost finished, and we are officially accepting applications for his forever home!
🐾 About Ethan:
~3 years old
~50 lbs
Neutered
Heartworm treatment nearly complete
House trained & crate trained
Gentle, resilient, and so deserving of a loving family
🐶🐱 Ethan has not yet been dog or cat tested, as he is finishing up heartworm treatment, but once cleared, we’ll be able to learn more about his preferences.
Ethan has overcome so much and never stopped being a good boy. He’s ready to leave his hard past behind and start the next chapter of his life — on a couch, with a family of his own.
SQUIRTLE - CHARLEY’S K9 RESCUE
This 3-year-old heartthrob turns heads everywhere he goes—and he knows it. Squirtle is a low-riding bully mix with charm for days and a personality that’ll win you over in seconds.
He absolutely loves his people and prefers to be as close as possible at all times. Whether it’s hanging by your side or soaking up attention, Squirtle is all about his humans. He’s crate trained and thrives with structure and guidance, making him a great fit for someone who can provide consistency and leadership.
Squirtle is looking for a home where he can be the center of attention, so he’ll do best as the only animal in the home.
If you’re searching for a loyal, handsome companion who will stick by your side through it all, Squirtle is your guy.
