STAR - HOPE ANIMAL RESCUE
Star’s story began with heartbreak — her former “family” tried to throw her off a bridge. When she was rescued, she was emaciated, heartworm positive, and yet still wagging her tail at the shelter staff who saved her.
Today, Star is a completely different dog: healthy, confident, and absolutely in love with life. After completing heartworm treatment and her spay, she spent January 2026 in a board-and-train program where she built a strong obedience foundation, learned off-leash skills, and discovered how fun the world can be.
Star adores people and greets new friends with full-body wiggles, joyful lean-ins, and excited hops straight into the air. She loves exploring, sniffing adventures, and playing tug or fetch with her humans.
She continues to grow socially with other dogs through structured pack walks and carefully matched playmates, and her confidence keeps building in new environments like dog-friendly stores and gatherings.
At home, Star is a dream — crate trained, house trained, and always ready for her next adventure.
👑 Star is looking for:
• A calm, structured home
• An adopter excited to continue her training and confidence-building
• Humans ready to help her keep expanding her world
Our rescue will sponsor trainer handoff sessions to support her continued success.
CHIP - CRISIS DOGS NC
A 1-year-old Boxer/Pit mix weighing 42 lbs and bursting with playful energy, charm, and love. This happy guy is potty trained, crate trained, and has excellent house manners — he can even be trusted uncrated when you’re away. Known as the “social butterfly” of the rescue, Chip absolutely adores people and greets everyone he meets with his signature smile and enthusiastic affection.
Chip would thrive with an active family who enjoys adventures like hiking, running, or long walks. He loves to play hard and snuggle even harder, though his big personality can sometimes be a little “aggressively affectionate” in the most lovable way. Because of his excitement and energy, Chip would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home where he can soak up all the attention.
This bestest boy is ready to bring joy, laughter, and adventure to his forever family.
YUNA - HOPE ANIMAL RESCUE
Coming soon to Hope Animal Rescue!
JOURNEY - CRISIS DOGS NC
A 4-month-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 15 lbs who’s just beginning his adventure in life. This curious, cuddly puppy loves exploring new toys, watching what the other dogs are doing, and soaking up attention from his people. He enjoys being held and doted on, but he’s also confident enough to entertain himself when needed.
Like any young pup, Journey is still learning the basics — house training, crate routines, and how the big world works. He’s playful, observant, and already showing the intelligence and loyalty shepherd mixes are known for. He’s currently healing from a small wound on his head and mouth, but it hasn’t slowed his sweet, silly spirit one bit.
Journey is looking for a family ready to guide him through puppyhood with patience, training, and plenty of love. With the right home, this little explorer is sure to grow into an incredible lifelong companion. 🐾
COLBY - LONGLEAF ANIMAL RESCUE
Colby is a calm, 8 year old cocker spaniel with a lot of love to give. He had not much human affection until recently, and he is quick to bond to his people now! He loves other dogs, and is very independent. He does have dry eye and will need basic eye drops (over the counter) for life.
APRICOT - BEST FRIEND PET ADOPTION
Apricot is a sweet, affectionate 8-month-old pup who’s ready to find his forever family. After a tough start in life, Apricot is learning all about the world and making wonderful progress. He’s crate trained, housebroken, and walks nicely on a leash, making him a lovely companion both at home and out on adventures.
Apricot has a moderate energy level and is happiest when he’s near his people. He enjoys walks and playtime but is just as content curling up for snuggles — he truly loves being your little shadow. He can be a bit cautious when meeting new dogs and people at first, but once he warms up, his goofy and loving personality shines.
Apricot would do best in a home with older kids and calm dog companions, though he’d also be happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. His adopter will also receive four months of complimentary 1:1 training sessions to help him continue building confidence and skills as he grows into the amazing companion he’s meant to be.
KING - WAKEGOV PETS
King is a RARE GEM who is CAT tolerant AND DOG FRIENDLY! King is an incredible find in the dog adoption world! The savvy adopter like you already knows that all pets in the home and King will need time to decompress and acclimate with slow, monitored introductions over many days, but wow...what a rare dog!
King loves to RUN around the yard at full speed to celebrate his freedom from shelter life, and his foster mom says he equally loves to snuggle on the couch and give his sweet dog kisses. King has played extremely well with male and female dogs at his foster home, and his previous foster says he lived with a cat successfully. King can also entertain himself by playing with his toys and his all-time favorite, a peanut butter-filled Kong.
This handsome, sweet boy may need some time to warm up to new people, but he warms up pretty quickly. His foster mom is helping him to become more confident, and it's working! King is also fully potty trained, crate trained, knows the commands of sit and down, and takes treats gently.
If you have a home looking to add a fun, loving, and cuddly companion who can get along with a cat AND dogs (oh, and maybe older children because he wouldn't want to accidentally knock a toddler over when he gets the zoomies), then HURRY! Come get your boy!
