A Different Kind Of Pet Photography Experience: What Sets Us Apart

As a consumer, I know it’s easy to get completely overwhelmed at the sheer number of service providers for any given industry.

How do you know who to choose?

It’s no different for photography recommendations!

You ask for referrals on social media and get a hundred (or more) responses for a Pet Photographer.

But, as they say, not every service is created equal.

With that in mind, I wanted to simply round up what sets our experience apart in the hopes that if you are on the fence or aren’t quite sure why you should choose us, this post helps solidify your decision.

It’s always important to me to ensure that the clients we work with are the right fit for us and vice versa.

1. We Provide A Dog-Centered Experience

  • Sessions are designed around your dog’s comfort, safety, and personality, not a rigid shot list. While we do aim for a specific series of images from your session - if your dog can’t do something or doesn’t want to, that’s okay.

    • We take breaks when needed.

    • We leave time for sniffing and exploring.

    • We adjust the pace or session flow for shy or high-energy dogs.

    • We build in time or spend more time with seniors or reactive pups.

    • We leave all expectations at home and work with where your dog is at.

    • We allow your dog to have fun.

2. We Know Dogs.

  • We often see images of dogs where the stress signals are through the roof, the dogs are out of focus, or the dogs are an afterthought in posing. As a photographer who specializes in working with dogs, we understand them and allow them to be the star of the show.

    In other words, we:

    • Can read and understand dog body language

    • Cultivate a safe, fun environment for your dog(s)

    • Often work with shy, anxious, reactive, scared, or high-energy dogs

    • Celebrate dogs no matter their stage of life

3. Our Work Gives Back To Other Dogs In Need

  • When you hire us, your session keeps on giving. Since 2019, we’ve photographed over 1,000 homeless dogs to help them find their forever homes through the medium of beautiful imagery. Client sessions help support this work!

4. More Than Just Digital Files–Custom Artwork You Can’t Get Anywhere else

  • We custom design heirloom artwork for our clients, not images that sit on a hard drive. From the moment we begin working together, we are planning out your unique artwork from location to wardrobe to time of year to specific shots showcasing the relationship between you and your pups or celebrating the things your dogs love to do. In other words, we are a full service studio that offers more than a ‘quick’ photoshoot.

Some of our custom artwork pieces include:

5. A Guided Experience From Start to Finish

We support you and your pups from the initial inquiry all the way until we deliver your finished artwork. In fact, one of the biggest compliments we receive from previous clients is how supported they felt throughout the entire process.

Some ways we do this are through things like:

  • Initial Consultation Calls to answer questions or concerns before booking

  • Offering up great communication to our clients via text or email throughout the entire process

  • Planning calls to discuss artwork, logistics, location, wardrobe, and all about your dogs before the session

  • Complimentary Meet + Greets for dogs who might need a bit more time with us

  • Client Guides, such as our Preparation and Style Guides to help you feel the most prepared for the session

  • Beautiful location recommendations

  • Posing guidance

  • Custom Album and Wall Art design

  • High-end artwork options from Professional Printers around the world

6. We specialize in Dog Photography.

Since we started back in 2019, we’ve been on a mission to learn everything we can about Dog Photography specifically. From international retreats to in-person conferences to photography classes, and more–dog photography is our specialty.

Which means we focus on:

  • A wide array of expressions

  • Poses that feel natural to your pup

  • Quirky behaviors or preferences of your dog

  • The connection between you and your pup(s)

  • Slow motion movement, action, and play

If you’ve read all that and you are ready to get started today, be sure to check our Session Info page here for more information about the process, pricing, or to inquire!
